Neuschwanstein Castle

Our tour will take us to the area of the romantic Bavarian Alps; through the village of Füssen we’ll approach Schwangau, where Neuschwanstein Castle is located.

The famous King Ludwig II of Bavaria, also known as the Fairytale King, commissioned this romantic castle at the expense of the royal family treasures of Bavaria. Walt Disney’s Castle of the Sleeping Beauty is inspired by this exceptional castle. On the interior walls you will see decorations and wall paintings that were inspired by Richard Wagner’s operas as Ludwig was fascinated by Wagner’s music dramas.

On the way back to the bus we will cross the Marienbrücke bridge, which offers a picturesque panoramic view over the Bavarian landscape with its beautiful lakes and forests. Afterwards we’ll return to Innsbruck.
