Nuremberg and Ingolstadt Tour
From Munich, we will embark on the journey to Nuremberg, the capital of the Franconia region.
Emperors and princes, leaders and abductees, inventors and scholars: since the Middle Ages, Nuremberg has been a reflection of German history, impressive, vibrant, varying between grandeur and tragedy.
During our tour of Nuremberg’s Historic Mile – the tourist route that includes the city’s most important monuments and buildings – we will see the imposing city walls, the Frauenkirche and St. Lawrence churches with their unique splendor and wealth, the Renaissance building Fembohaus with the Nuremberg State Museum, the Tucherschloss Museum, and the house of Albrecht Dürer. The Craftsmen’s Courtyard invites you to take a look at its numerous shops – a mix of old and modern craftsmanship. Here, you can observe artisans at work and purchase gifts such as brass toys or leather wallets, as well as the original Nuremberg Lebkuchen cookies or the famous Nuremberg “Rostbratwurst” sausages.
On our way back to Munich, we will stop in the city of Ingolstadt, a university town on the Danube, which enchants visitors with its charm and extraordinary atmosphere. The main attraction is its picturesque old town, which can be accessed through the elegant Kreuztor Gate. Behind the gate, we are greeted by well-known monuments such as the New Castle, the church built by Asam, the “Old Anatomy,” and the Old Town Hall. The pedestrian zone with over 300 shops and eateries, as well as numerous markets, makes a visit to the old town a true pleasure.
After the visit, there will be free time to stroll through the pedestrian zone or do some shopping. Alternatively, a visit to the AUDI-FORUM could be included, which brings the subject of automobiles to life for all car enthusiasts.
