Enchanting Salzburg

Salzburg has a long history as a metropolis of art and culture. The cultural heritage of the baroque city has its origin in the vibrant exchange with its southern neighbours, especially with Italy. Salzburg is also the “Sound of Music” city! Not only did the real Trapp family once live here, this movie classic was also filmed in and around the city.


Program

Day 1:

Arrival transfer (airport / train station) to your hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2:

Breakfast. Panoramic city tour of Salzburg (half day tour / approx. 2,5h)
Salzburg is a superblend of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural master pieces, built by famous artists over the past centuries and therefore listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Little has changed architecturally since Mozart´s time, so join us on a time travel through a city where he spent most of his life. Learn more about the Salzburg Cathedral, the Festival District, St. Peters or Mozart‘s birthplace in Getreidegasse Street. You will see the summer residence of Archbishop Markus Sittikus – Hellbrunn Palace, the tour will also take you to Leopoldskron Palace for a photo stop and pass by Frohnburg Palace – both locations known from the movie “The Sound of Music”. In the end you will enjoy free admission to the Mozart Museum experiencing the fascinating world of the Mozart family.
Day 3:

Breakfast. Excursion to the Lake District Salzkammergut (half day tour)
The tour will leave Salzburg and pass by Lake Fuschl in direction of lake Wolfgangsee. Explore the little town of St. Gilgen, where Mozart’s mother was born and enjoy a 45-minute boat ride to St. Wolfgang. In St. Wolfgang your guide will show you the famous pilgrimage church with its carved gothic winged altar by Michael Pacher (visit is only possible if there are no events in the church). There will be some time to explore the picturesque town or have a coffee break. Afterwards we‘ll drive along Lake Mondsee before we return to Salzburg.

In the evening we invite you to a very special dinner accompanied by Mozart’s masterpieces. We will travel back to the year 1790. The dinner will take place at one of the oldest restaurants in Europe, located in the city center of Salzburg. A culinary and musical seduction is waiting for you at this magical ambience. We will enjoy the arias of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart during dinner which is prepared using typical recipes from Mozart‘s epoche.
