Themed Walking Tour “Palaces and Fortresses”

Our walk begins in the gardens of Mirabell Palace, one of the most beautiful Baroque gardens in the world. The Pegasus Fountain and the garden steps are best known for being the filming location for the song “Do-Re-Mi” from the movie The Sound of Music. A rather unusual part of the garden is the “Dwarf Garden,” the oldest in Europe, where we will see 17 marble dwarfs dating back to the 17th century. We continue our walk towards Mozart’s house. Crossing the river, we reach the historic center, where we will pass by St. Peter’s Monastery and Cemetery. Finally, the tour concludes with a climb to Hohensalzburg Fortress, from where we will have a beautiful view of the city.
