Treasures of Innsbruck
During the panoramic tour of Innsbruck we will take a tour of the most emblematic places of this city such as the Hofburg Palace (former residence of the Court), the medieval houses that give Innsbruck its special charm, the Golden Roof and the Olympic ski jumping slope.
In the historic center of the city we will visit the Court Church, where the mausoleum of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, is located and whose tomb is surrounded by 28 giant black copper statues.
Next, we will pass by the Basilica of Wilten, built in the Rococo style, which has its origin in a Roman church from 420 A.D.
We continue to Ambras Castle, which houses the impressive collection of armour of Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria and Count of Tyrol. We will also see the chamber of art and wonders with its multitude of curious and exotic objects from all over the world, including automatons and objects made of ivory and coral. In the Spanish Room, one of the most beautiful Renaissance rooms in Austria and whose name demonstrates the close relations between Philip II of Spain and Ferdinand II, we will see the portraits of Ferdinand’s predecessors and the inlays on the wooden ceiling.
