Munich – Innsbruck – Salzburg
Day 1 MUNICH
Arrival transfer from the airport to your hotel. Information about your stay through our staff. Checkin at the hotel and distribution of the rooms. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2 MUNICH
Breakfast. Panoramic city tour of Munich famous for its traditional breweries, but also for its culture and old traditions. We will show you the most important monuments of the Bavarian capital, with its numerous churches, historic buildings and museums including the Old and Modern Art Galleries. Passing by Trinity Church, the Opera, the former Royal Residence and the famous English Garden. Lunch in a traditional Restaurant. Then we will walk through the historic centre of Munich: entering through one of the old gates of the city known as Karlstor, we will go to St. Michael Church, where the remains of the “Mad King” can be found. After crossing Marienplatz we will encounter the City Hall with its famous chimes and the Frauenkirche church. Subsequently we make our way to the Opera Square, the Feldherrnhalle, the Royal Residence, and the Church of St.Peter. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 3 MUNICH - Oberammergau - Ettal - Neuschwanstein - INNSBRUCK
Breakfast. Departure to Innsbruck. On the way we will make a stop in Oberammergau to visit the world famous Bavarian town, known for its cabinetmakers, richly painted houses as well as for the traditional Passion Play. We will continue to Ettal and visit the Basilica that is part of the Benedictine monastery. Passing through Füssen, we will approach Schwangau where the castle Neuschwanstein is located. Lunch in restaurant. After Lunch we will visit Neuschwanstein. The famous King Ludwig II of Bavaria had this romantic castle built, at the expense of the treasury of the Bavarian royal family. During the guided tour of the castle we can admire the fabulous paintings and decorations with motifs from Richard Wagner’s operas. Arrival in Innsbruck in the late afternoon. Checkin at the hotel and distribution of the rooms. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 INNSBRUCK
Breakfast. Panoramic visit of Innsbruck (2 hrs). Innsbruck’s famous sights are waiting for you! We will pass by the Basilica Wilten built in the Rococo Style that has its origin in a Roman church from the year 420. In the historic city centre we will encounter the Church of the Court where the mausoleum of Maximilian I is located. We will also pass by Hofburg palace (former residence of the Court), the medieval houses that give Innsbruck its special charm and, of course, the Golden Roof. Next we will take the Nordkettenbahn funicular and have lunch in a typical restaurant in the mountains! Free time and return to Innsbruck. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 5 INNSBRUCK - Ambras - Wattens - Achensee - INNSBRUCK
Breakfast. Departure to Ambras Castle, which houses an impressive collection of armour of Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria. In the Spanish Room, one of the most beautiful Renaissance rooms in Austria, we get an impression of the relation between Felipe II of Spain and Ferdinand II. Furthermore we can admire the portraits of Ferdidand’s ancestors and the inlays on the wooden ceiling. A stop in Wattens gives us the opportunity to visit the Swarovski Crystal Worlds (entrance fee included). The water-spouting giant has become a world-renowned work of art and invites visitors to enter its interior. Lunch at Daniels Restaurant in the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. Lunch at restaurant. Departing from Wattens we head to lake “Achensee”, where we will enjoy the spectacular scenery of Tyrol and enjoy a boat tour. Return to Innsbruck. Dinner and Show “Tirolean Night”. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 6 INNSBRUCK - Krimml - SALZBURG
Breakfast. Early departure to the Zillertal Valley with its beautiful scenery. Then we will make our way to Krimml over the Gerlos pass. Stop in Krimml to see the beautiful and magical waterfalls (one of Europe’s highest waterfalls of 380m). A steep, but well paved path takes us to different viewpoints, every one more spectacular than the last one. We continue our way to Salzburg via Zell am See, where the Zeller See is located. The city is surrounded by high alpine mountains and thus offers an impressive image. Lunch in a typical restaurant. After lunch, we will continue our journey to Salzburg. Checkin at the hotel and distribution of the rooms. Dinner and accommodation in the hotel.
Day 7 SALZBURG - Salzkammergut
Breakfast. Panoramic walking tour through the city of Salzburg. Salzburg’s most important sights are waiting for you! The tour starts at the gardens of Mirabell Palace, there you’ll have a great view of the fortress. After crossing the bridge over river Salzach we’ll come to the alley Getreidegasse, where the birth house of Mozart is located. Next we will see the Residence Square, the Cathedral, the Horse Pond, as well as the Festival House and Saint Peter’s Church. Then we will board the bus and make our way to “Salzkammergut”, also known as the Lake District, one of the most picturesque lake areas in Austria. Our way will take us along lake Fuschl and Hallstatt. In Hallstatt we will make a stop to visit the town and explore the churches, the historic stairway and much more. Lunch in a traditional restaurant. Return to Salzburg. Concert and Dinner “Mozart Dinner Concert”. Accomodation at the hotel.
Day 8 SALZBURG - Chiemsee - Munich
Breakfast. Departure for Lake Chiemsee. In Prien we will take a boat to the Herrenchiemsee Palace, located on the island “Herreninsel”. This palace was built by order of Luis II of Bavaria. A Tour of the gardens and rooms will remind us of the splendour of Versailles. After the visit, we will take the boat back to Prien. Lunch in a restaurant. Subsequently we will make our way to Munich airport to take the return flight.
