Enchanting Vienna
Day 1 Arrival to Vienna
Arrival transfer (airport / train station) to your hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2 Vienna
Breakfast. Panoramic city tour of Vienna (half day tour / approx. 3h)
Today you will see Vienna’s most important sights. Starting with the Ringstrasse Avenue with its magnificent historic buildings, such as the Opera, the museums of natural history and art history, the Heroes’ Gate, the Parliament, The City Hall, the University, the national theater and the votive church.
The highlight of the tour will be the interior visit to Schönbrunn Palace, where you will see the imperial apartments and learn more about Vienna’s history. Before the tour ends we will take you to Belvedere Palace (exterior visit) and its beautiful gardens.
In the afternoon we invite you for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake at a traditional Viennese coffeehouse.
After some time at leisure you will have a very typical dinner at one of Vienna’s renowned restaurants. Enjoy Vienna’s signature dish which grandmothers have prepared for their families for ages: the traditional Viennese Schnitzel! In Viennese cuisine, there is probably no dish more characteristic than Wiener Schnitzel. You can’t leave Vienna without having tried it!
Day 3 Vienna
Breakfast. Walking tour through the historic city center (half day tour / approx. 2h)
You will take a walk through Vienna’s Imperial history. Starting from the world famous Vienna State Opera and strolling through the streets and squares where Empress Sisi and Emperor Francis Joseph as well as Empress Maria Theresa went for a walk you will discover the history and myths of this city. Once you arrive to the Imperial Palace Hofburg, which is home to the Spanish Riding School, you will visit the Imperial Apartments and the Sisi Museum dedicated to the life and death of Empress Elisabeth I. Afterwards you will pass by St. Michael´s and St. Peter´s church until you finally reach St. Stephen’s cathedral (exterior visit), where the tour ends.
In the evening we invite you for dinner at the historical Kursalon Palace, the concert hall where Strauss himself directed the orchestra. This palace has ever since been a place where waltz music and the zest for life play a major role. After dinner you will enjoy a classical concert with works by Mozart and Strauss full of Viennese charm. Waltzes, polkas, arias and operettas will delight you.
