VIENNA – MELTING POT OF CUISINES
Program
| Day 1: | Arrival in Vienna and private transfer to the hotel by car with a English-speaking driver. Check-in and the rest of the day at the clients’ disposal. |
| Day 2: | From our meeting point at Schwedenplatz, we will set off towards the restaurant Griechenbeisl, founded in 1447 and considered the oldest restaurant in Vienna. Since its opening, it has served as a meeting place for artists, scholars, and politicians. We will then pass by the Figlmüller restaurant, known throughout the country for its Viennese schnitzel (“Wiener Schnitzel”), served here for more than 115 years. It is said that nowhere else is the meat as tender and the breading as golden and crispy as in this restaurant. Of course, our guide will tell you all about this famous dish and its origins. Strolling through the narrow lanes of the historic city center, we will reach the Heiner confectionery and pastry shop, founded in 1840 and an official purveyor to the imperial court during the monarchy. Today it produces all kinds of cakes, pastries, chocolate, sweets, and pralines. We will invite you to taste handmade pralines. You also shouldn’t miss taking a look at one of the most traditional and authentic cafés—Café Diglas, just around the corner. It is just one example of Vienna’s long coffeehouse tradition, and our guide will share many interesting details along the way. On our way to the final stop, we will pass the official shop of the Manner factory, producer of the famous wafers of the same name. After this walk, we all deserve a small snack. To conclude the tour, we will treat you to a sausage in a roll at one of the city’s most famous stands. “Bitzinger,” located right behind the Opera House, is a popular meeting point for singers, actors, opera lovers, and other distinguished guests, serving its sausages well past midnight. End of the tour. In the afternoon, we will invite you for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake at one of the city’s most traditional cafés. To round off the day, dinner awaits at one of Vienna’s most famous restaurants: “Figlmüller.” This venue is considered the birthplace of the Wiener Schnitzel—what better place to enjoy Austria’s national dish? |
| Day 3: | In the morning, we will visit the Naschmarkt Market. Here we will immerse ourselves in a world of flavors and aromas from all continents. Between olives, fruit, and vegetables, we will make our way to the spice stalls. We will learn what curry consists of and what ras el hanout is. Next, we will pass small shops selling cheese, meat, and sausages, and end our walk at the fishmongers’ stands. The guide will also share amusing anecdotes about the market and its history, as well as about Vienna’s typical cuisine. Free afternoon at the clients’ disposal. In the evening, you will take part in a unique musical experience at the Imperial Gala Concert, held in the historic Palais Auersperg—a venue that breathes history and tradition. Exceptional orchestra soloists present an exclusive classical concert featuring highlights from masterpieces by Mozart, Strauss, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and other great composers of the era. Before the concert, you will enjoy a dinner offering an exquisite selection of Viennese specialties (3-course menu / excluding beverages). Transfers hotel–concert–hotel are at the clients’ own expense. |
| Day 4: | Free time to continue discovering Vienna’s culinary secrets independently until the private transfer to the airport by car with a English-speaking driver. |
