Herrenchiemsee Palace

We’ll leave Salzburg on the freeway direction to Munich. In Prien we will board the ship that will take us to Herrenchiemsee Palace, located on the island “Herreninsel” in the centre of the lake “Chiemsee”.

This palace was ordered to be built by Ludwig II of Bavaria, more known as “Swan King” or “Mad King Ludwig”. A walk through the gardens and rooms will reminiscent the splendour of Versailles.

After the visit we will take the ship back to Prien where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will return to Salzburg where we’ll visit the well-known palace of the archbishops of Salzburg “Hellbrunn” with its famous water games.
