Prague – Dresden – Berlin
Day 1 Arrival to Prague
Arrival transfer from the airport or train station to your hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2 Panoramic city tour of Prague
During this tour you will see the most interesting historical sights of Prague – the Municipal House, Wenceslas Square, the National Museum and Charles Square followed by a ride along the beautiful riverside and across the River Vltava to Prague Castle. In the city centre you will admire the Old Town Square, the Thyn Church, St. Nicholas Church and the astronomical clock on the Old Town Hall, where the tour ends. In the afternoon free time. Accommodation in your hotel.
Day 3 Prague
Day at leisure in Prague. In the evening we invite you to Prague’s famous black-light theatre. Black-light theatre is one big optical illusion (the black cabinet trick), which takes advantage of your imperfect human eye: you can’t distinguish black-on-black.
Day 4 Prague-Dresden
Check out and transfer to the railway station with English speaking driver. Transfer to Dresden by train. Arrival to Dresden and transfer to your hotel with English speaking driver and walking tour through the Saxon capital.
One of the most emblematic buildings is the famous church of Our Lady, also known as Frauenkirchen by the Germans. It is one of the most important baroque representations of the Lutheranism in Europe. We continue the tour walking by the Elbe river bank, where we will contemplate the famous Augustus Bridge before entering the historic city centre. We walk past the Residential Castle and have a look at the Hausmann Tower before we will reach the Catholic Cathedral. Strolling through the city centre we will arrive at the Theatre Square, where Semperoper – the most recognizable opera in Germany – is located.
During the last part of the tour we will see the majestic gardens of the Zwinger Palace, built on the site that occupied a historic fortress. Free time for the rest of the day.
Day 5 Prague-Berlin
Check out and transfer from the hotel to the train station. Transfer to Berlin by train (2,20 hours).
Arrival to Berlin, pick-up from the train station and panoramic city tour. During this tour we show you all the places of interest: the Brandenburg Gate, the famous Unter den Linden Boulevard with its many architectural monuments, the Memorial Church, the Reichstag (the German Parliament), the Humboldt University, Alexanderplatz and the famous Kurfürstendamm. We will pass on all the historical knowledge, you will see the remains of the wall and feel the enormous development since the reunification of Germany in 1990. Of course, we will stop at the most emblematic points to take pictures. The tour will end at the hotel.
Day 6 Berlin - Excursion to Potsdam
Regular SIC excursion with English speaking guide to Potsdam, one of the most beautiful and grand towns in Germany.
Meeting with the guide at 10:00h at Alexanderplatz, from there we will take the train to Potsdam in approx. 40 minutes. Frederick II., also known as Frederick the Great, was in love with Potsdam. He dedicated time and effort to beautify the city by building palaces and gardens. We will show you the most famous sights and places of the historical city centre: the gardens and exteriors of the majestic Sanssouci Palace, the Church of Peace and Potsdam’s Nauen Gate. We’ll continue our tour to the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Soviet cemetery and the Dutch quarter. The tour will end at approx. 15:00h in Potsdam.
You will have the choice of staying in Potsdam or to go back to Berlin with the guide, where we will arrive at 16:00h. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Possibility of individually visiting museums or other monuments with the 48-hour Berlin Welcome Card, which is included in your package. Day 7 Berlin
